Employment Opportunties for Older Workers
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides part-time community service jobs for people 55 years of age or older who meet the federally determined income levels. Program participants are placed at community or government agencies and are paid the state minimum wage while they receive on the job training. They may also receive specialized training and can use their participation as a bridge to other employment positions when they are job ready.
The SCSEP Program is designed to serve people 55 years of age or older who meet the income guidelines. This group includes:
- Retired individuals who wish to return to the working world on a part-time basis.
- Widowed individuals who may not have worked outside of the home.
- Older Americans who are unemployed and wish to learn new skills.
