New Bedford – “Share Some Warmth,” the annual community service project sponsored by the Hathaway Family Funeral Homes, Bristol County's largest family owned funeral business, is now underway. This year's campaign will provide new warm clothing to New Bedford seniors in need with the help of Coastline Elderly Services.

“The needs have never been greater in the 11 years we've organized ‘Share Some Warmth' in Attleboro and across Bristol County. We've entered the season of giving thanks and giving back, and it's such a special blessing for us to reach out and bring warmth, support and a little extra happiness this time of year,” said William “BT” Hathaway, owner of the Donaghy and Fairhaven Funeral Homes.

November 23 th through December 11 th , the Hathaway Family Funeral Homes are collecting new articles of warm clothing including hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, sweaters, pajamas, slippers, blankets and coats. Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Donaghy Funeral Home 465 County Street, New Bedford and Noon to 4 PM at the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St. Fairhaven, and during normal business hours at Coastline Elderly Services and at the WBSM studios in Fairhaven.

Coastline will distribute all of the items collected.

Terry Larson, Assistant Director of Coastline Elderly Services, expressed her deep appreciation of the Hathaway Family for sponsoring “Share Some Warmth.” “Seniors have tremendous needs in our communities and the resources are limited,” said Larson. “Often they must make difficult choices between heating and clothing, prescription drugs and food. Many are forgotten at holiday time. However with the generosity of the community and the Hathaway family, we will look forward to bringing warm clothing and a bit of cheer to our elderly this season. I urge the New Bedford and Fairhaven communities to support ‘Share Some Warmth'.”
